A one-liner and messaging that make what you do obvious in a sentence.
A brand and website that match the quality of the work you already do.
Search and your Google Business Profile, set up properly from day one.
Optional ongoing care, so it still looks right two years from now.
A website that looks outdated, a brand that doesn't feel like you, or no online presence at all. It's holding you back, even if the work itself is great.
It looks dated, generic, or like it was never finished.
There's no consistent look or voice, so people don't know who you are before they meet you.
Between running the business and everything else, it keeps getting pushed to next month.
No jargon, no confusion, just a clear path from where you are to where you want to be.
A free conversation about your business, what you need, and what success looks like for you. Then we map out exactly what needs to be done.
Brand identity, website, or both. Built to reflect your work and get you in front of the right people.
We refine and finalize it, so you can focus on what you do best.
Your site, your search presence, and your content keep growing, month after month. Website care, your Google Business Profile, search visibility, and a social post every week.
With Your Marketing Director, our ongoing engagement. Optional, and the reason most of our work doesn't end at launch.
Real businesses, real builds. Take a look for yourself.

View live siteYou're doing great work, but your online presence doesn't show it. People judge your business before they ever talk to you, and right now that first impression isn't fair to what you actually deliver.
A brand and website that finally match the quality of your work. You feel proud to send people to your site, and you can stop worrying about how you look online.
I spent years as a church communicator frustrated by exactly this problem. I've helped small business owners work through it since, and I'd like to help you too.
We operated strictly on word-of-mouth referrals. We've seen an increase in cold, non-referral online traffic. A number of those leads became actual paying customers, and a couple turned into six-figure projects.
Working with Ben was easy and smooth. No hard sales push. Just passion and knowledge for his work.
Ben listened to what I wanted and really made me feel comfortable through the entire process of the web design. If I had any questions he was there to answer them.
He listened to my ideas, understood what I wanted my site to communicate, and captured the overall vision for my company.
Handing your brand to someone takes a leap of faith, especially if you've been burned before. Here's what you can hold me to.
Straight answers, including the ones that talk you out of working with me.
Small businesses, mostly owner-operated, across trades and professional services. Live examples include Tekton Outdoor Living, a Denver deck builder and outdoor living contractor; Fired Grain Creations, which makes custom cutting and charcuterie boards; Molly Downs-Stoller, LMFT, a telehealth psychotherapy and coaching practice; KM Consulting, which does accounting and bookkeeping for small service businesses; and Church Comms Compass, a framework and resource site for ministry communicators. Brand Traction is based in Littleton, Colorado and works across the Denver metro area in person, and with clients elsewhere remotely. There is no industry requirement. The common thread is an owner whose work is better than their online presence suggests, which is a different problem from a business that needs more leads out of an already-good site. If your website is fine and you want more traffic to it, a search or advertising specialist is a better fit than a brand and web studio.
No, but every Brand Traction website project starts with brand clarity one way or the other. You either bring an existing brand guide, or we build one together before any design work starts. That guide covers your logo, color palette, typography, and the messaging that explains what you do in a sentence, built on the StoryBrand framework. The reason for the order is practical: a website is a container, and building the container before you know what goes in it produces the generic result most small business sites end up with. Once the brand is settled, the build follows on Squarespace if you want to edit it yourself, or as a fast static site if you want speed and lower maintenance. Either way you own the site, the domain, and every account attached to it when the project ends.
Brand Traction is Ben Todd, working directly with you. There is no account manager relaying messages and no junior designer doing the build while someone else takes the meetings. The person you talk to is the person writing the copy and building the pages. After launch, you own the site, the domain, and every account attached to the project, so nothing is held hostage if you decide to move on or hire someone else later. Ongoing care is optional. Some clients take a care plan that covers updates, platform maintenance, and keeping the site from quietly aging out, which is offered as a continuing engagement called Your Marketing Director. Others take the site and run it themselves. Both are fine, and you will never receive an invoice you did not approve first. If you do not need ongoing help, you will be told that rather than sold it.
